Local stakeholders, comprising a coalition of hotels and iconic venues such as Ricks Café, Woodstock, Jungle, Roots Bamboo, Chances, Margaritaville, Long Bay Beach Park, Wavz, and Jamwest Motorsports and Adventure Park, have joined forces to host these four days of activities. The aim is to reaffirm Negril’s vibrant offerings and vibrant passion, reminding both locals and visitors that the town remains a premier Jamaican destination.
The Shifting Landscape of Negril’s Events
The departure of significant events like Dream Wknd and Reggae Marathon marks a pivotal moment for Negril. Dream Wknd, after 16 years, is relocating to Montego Bay for its 2026 staging, citing growth imperatives, venue limitations – including the sale of its primary venue, Kool Runnings Water Park, and the smaller capacity of its secondary venue, Wavz Negril – and the need for greater accessibility and accommodation options. Similarly, the Reggae Marathon has moved its 25th-anniversary event to the Kingston Waterfront.
