Naya Rockers and Floki Studios: Architects of Harmony
The powerhouse behind this ambitious project is the Naya Rockers band, a 10-piece collective that includes reggae luminaries such as Earl “Chinna” Smith, recognized by Rolling Stone as one of the greatest guitarists of all time, alongside members of The Skatalites, John Brown’s Body, and Slightly Stoopid. Founded by drummer/producer Nathan Sabanayagam, Naya Records has consistently worked to bridge reggae’s past, present, and future through its releases. Floki Studios, directed by Wade Koeman, based in Iceland, partnered to provide uncompromising sonic quality and contribute to the album’s charitable aim, donating all its proceeds from the album to the Alpha School of Music.
Alpha School of Music: A Cradle of Jamaican Musical Talent
The Alpha School of Music, established in 1880 by the Sisters of Mercy, has a profound history in Kingston, Jamaica. Initially an orphanage, it began offering music education in 1892 and has since produced some of Jamaica’s most iconic musicians, including pioneers of jazz, ska, and reggae. Alumni include Don Drummond, Tommy McCook, and Yellowman, cementing Alpha’s status as a foundational institution in the development of Jamaican music. The school continues to offer tertiary-level training, preparing young men and women for careers in the music and entertainment industry, blending tradition with modern facilities.
A Collaborative Masterpiece

Mixed by Stephen Stewart (known for his work with Bob Marley, Third World, and Steel Pulse) and Nathan Sabanayagam at Kingston’s legendary Tuff Gong Studio and Anchor Studios, the album embodies a spirit of soul, precision, and purpose. This project serves not only as a collection of exceptional music but also as a significant cultural statement, reinforcing the vital role of music education.
